The Romance
of Science Fiction
(short version)
Physically, I'm at work right now, but mentally, I'm in a 70s themed breakfast diner in outer space, listening to Gorthrak the bold ramble on about his marriage problems while I push the eggs on my plate around with my fork. "I just hate feeling like I'm invisible, like my feelings don't even matter." "Mhmm." I said, half paying attention. I had more important things on my mind.
The next job will take us halfway across the Milky Way galaxy, way further out than we have ever been before. It's a risky job, but the paycheck is too big to resist. We finished our breakfast, and headed out on the biggest job of our careers. I had a bad feeling in my gut, but I pushed it aside as Jay interrupted, "Hey, you gave me two orange instead of an orange and a red." "Huh?" I said as I snapped back to reality.

"You colorblind fool, these are both orange." He insisted. "Dude, blood orange and bright red are the same mf color, I know you guys are fucking with me." Jay just laughed. "Dude it's cool, I'll just put the order to the side for now." Anyways, the point I'm trying to make is, they can take your body for 1/3rd of your life, but don't ever let your space western fantasies die. Shine on space rainbow.
